A bicycle trip along the Adige River is a unique experience that combines nature, history and the discovery of beautiful landscapes. The Adige River, the second longest river in Italy, runs through some of the most picturesque regions of northern Italy, offering a bicycle route that is a mix of adventure and tranquility. As you pedal along the river, you can enjoy the beauty of unspoiled nature: the lush forests, green meadows, and towering mountains that form the backdrop. Along the way, it is common to encounter local wildlife such as waterfowl, hares and perhaps a few deer. The variety of the landscape, which changes at every turn, makes each kilometer a different visual experience.

Lake Reschen and Vinschgau
Lake Resia is the ideal starting point for this trip. Located on the border with Austria and Switzerland, it is famous for the submerged bell tower that emerges from its waters, a striking and photogenic symbol. From here begins the bike path that descends along the Vinschgau Valley, following the course of the Adige River in a breathtaking alpine landscape.
Adige Valley
From Merano we reach Bolzano and via the Wine Road, Caldaro and then Trento. Most of the route is flat and runs along the river, and we pass from orchards (apples) to vineyards, until we reach Verona and Valpolicella.
Land of the Doges (Great Valleys of Verona)
From Verona we continue south, crossing the Venetian plain. This is a longer but relatively flat stage, ideal for soaking in the countryside and river landscapes. The route continues toward the Venice lagoon, to Chioggia. This final section offers views of the lagoon and heralds the arrival in Venice. This adventure will take you from the alpine mountains to the calm waters of the lagoon, through historic cities and spectacular natural scenery. A bicycle trip from Lake Resia to Venice along the Adige River is an extraordinary way to explore northern Italy in total freedom and connection with the environment.
